What is Holy Week?
Holy Week is the most sacred time in the Christian calendar, marking the final days of Jesus’ earthly ministry, His suffering, death, and resurrection. It begins on Palm Sunday, when Jesus entered Jerusalem to shouts of praise, and leads to Good Friday, the day of His crucifixion. The week also includes Maundy Thursday, when Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples and washed their feet as a model of humility and love. On Holy Saturday, the world waits in silence, reflecting on the weight of His sacrifice, before the joy of Easter Sunday bursts forth with the celebration of His resurrection. Holy Week is a time of deep reflection, repentance, and gratitude, drawing believers closer to Christ as they remember His ultimate act of love and redemption.
